Broadening Horizons Week 2025

Our annual Broadening Horizons Week gave our opportunity for all children to raise our aspirations through exploring different career paths, empowered them to make decisions about their own future and focused on the different skills needed to be successful in the wider world. This has built on our whole school character education programme, where children have developed important like skills and personal traits.

By the end of the week the aims were for children to:

  • Name different careers open to them
  • Name different skills needed to be successful in these jobs
  • Try something they have never tried before
  • Explain how they have showed determination, resilience and courage this week

This was achieved by welcoming to our school:

  • A vast array of different careers (Boots, Formula 1, Church, Fire Service, Severn Trent, Acting, Entertainment, Artist)
  • A myriad of activities and experiences (Circus entertainer, Climbing Wall, Art project, sport coaching)
  • Sam Oldham, GB 2012 bronze medallist, who gave an inspirational talk to the children about achieving goals no one else thought possible.

Have a look at the range of photos we have here across the year groups across the week. The children certainly enjoyed it and our attendance was one of our highest across the year.
