Help your child to improve their reading during the summer holidays and free activities at Hucknall Library
Why not visit Hucknall Library over the summer holidays and help your child improve their reading? The summer reading challenge is a reading campaign coordinated by The Reading Agency and delivered nationally by libraries. Children are challenged to read 6 library books over the summer holidays and receive stickers, a game, a medal and certificate as they progress through the challenge. The challenge is suitable for children of all reading abilities.
This year’s challenge is Space Chase, an out-of-this-world-adventure inspired by the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. At Hucknall Library we are making the challenge more exciting by running an inter school’s competition. Help your school achieve the most completers.
There will be free space themed crafts activities on Thursday afternoons at 2-3pm at Hucknall Library throughout the summer holidays. We have two out of this world free workshops Tuesday 6th and 13th August 2-4pm to create silly space stories and an animated alien where booking is essential at Inspireculture.org.uk/outofthisworld, We also have live theatre, The Girl of Ink and Stars.
